I guess owning dogs is like most things, you can always learn something new. We already had a very quiet and steady Labrador. Things changed a little when a young, blind and a somewhat psychologically damaged puppy came to live with us. She was six months old and had little training up to that point.
We were told the by the animal behaviourist at the Dog Rescue Centre not to interfere unless absolutely necessary. To let the dogs get on with things. Over the course of the coming months it was wonderful to watch as the older dog taught, played and chastised its younger companion. We of course did our bit but little by little a transformation took place that had very little to do with any human involvement. Dogs are amazing!
